Greetings in the strong name of the Lord!
In my time before the Lord this morning in prayer, this is what God placed on my heart…

We are not asking God for something small or even a goal to reach with a certain amount of money…we are asking God for two Nations…to cause the Gospel message to infect 14 million people in Brazil and 600,000 in Cabo Verde, West Africa!

I was reminded this morning of what we have been called to do and what we are approaching the throne of grace with daily and often times, hourly.  We are entrenched in a calling from God to put into place, a infrastructure of Gospel work that will forever impact these nations.  Everything we are doing will be able to be reproduced in the field, in each nations in the context of their culture, and most importantly…led by their own people.  As my Pastor always says, “We are an island of plenty surrounded by a sea of needs.”  We are training two Nations because they have asked us to help them reach their own people and infect their nation with the Gospel message and a long term vision and accountability to carry out this work.  We are grateful, remain humble and pretty much overwhelmed as we work towards these Nations and seek the Lord for wisdom and clarity as we go…daily.
We serve an awesome God!  There are times I want to get in a hurry and do things for the sake of time but I was reminded also that, “For us time is of the essence.  For God time is essential!”  Along with Marti and I, our Board and now you…are being asked to join us weekly in prayer for this calling, our lives, the two nations we are working in, resources and pure wisdom from heaven.  We are coming to the place of fully operating here and in the very near future, the fields of these two nations and it is critical, now more than ever for us to bathe ourselves in prayer.  Specifically, I am asking God to reveal anything I have done in the flesh or caused or designed that is not his will or for his glory.  I am seeking purity of motives and a mindset that has only these three things; heaven, eternity and God, as I navigate choices and decisions to serve here and in these nations.  I am seeking God as a husband, father and grandfather…to be a clean vessel for him to use for his glory.
One thing God revealed to me and had to confess was, I was more focused on the condition and mindset of some people than I was on the faithfulness of God.  Put into context, God is our supply and I am hungrier than ever to declare, “Only God could have orchestrated this!” with everything we need or ask or do.  God is calling us to a purity of finances, resources and personal motives that can only be accomplished by his hand and as a result of your prayers over us and our ministry.  Saying that, I ask you to pray specifically this way with us:
  • For God to reveal any strongholds or self made provisions and get them out of our lives and ministry.
  • For a deep calling to people that will consider the magnitude of eternity and act on a calling from God to give.  We want no other resources than what God has called people to give.
  • For sacrificial and supernatural giving to occur in the people God has touched as a result of a heart for God and Kingdom work.  We are so hungry for the unexplainable to carry our organization!
  • Wisdom in getting the book God instructed me to write for training new Believers, “D90x-Doing Yes!  The first 90 days with God” in field form for us to use here and in Brazil and West Africa.  We have no idea how to get this done but we need wisdom on publishing, translating and deploying this resource.
  • Clarity and truth when dealing and struggling with the enemy during decision making times of when to go, who to ask to join our financial support and even as we work through logistical things such as what equipment we really need and what isn’t necessary.
  • Timing…we want nothing to do with our own timelines.  As a matter of fact, except for team departure dates, I will not create a deadline again!  Pray we operate on God’s timeline and remain focused in his provision and will.
I know this is much already.  I hope you hear my heart and the urgency of the need to pray for us…and pray with us…regularly  There is still much to do here but I will tell you this and it is straight from the heart…our going must be only the reflection of strong and consistent prayer at the very core of our ministry.  I do not want to be half way down a road and find out we are on the wrong street because we didn’t hear God say, “wrong street!”  Time is of the essence…I sense it now more than ever!
Marti and I love each of you, thanking God for your lives and influence and resources always!
